A sample of the ancient town in the country, some noisy, some commercialized and form into a nondescript commercial street. How can there be any quiet and peaceful of ancient town. So I once refused to tour ancient town. But in my heart, I actually was looking forward to encountering a quaint and authentic town with quiet mood. Finally, I encountered her - Xinshi ancient town.
Xinshi locates in the easternmost point of Deqing County, Zhejiang. It is bordering with the generation of literary master Mao Dun's hometown--Tongxiang. During the end of 1957 to the early 1958, the movie "Linjiapuzi" was filmed at here. This Water town of 1700 historical is still retains many classical features. There are numerous rivers and bridges everywhere in the town. With bridges, water and house, it constitutes the aesthetic scenery.
The Xihekou is a millennium ancient street in the center town; From the South Chenjia Lake to the north Zhujiaqiao, in its 300 meters of revetment, retaining more than 20 Hebu Head of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The sparkling river flow slowly, and split the street in two. There are the unique style cursory floor, exquisite brick gatehouse and upturned eave of the roof in the cross-strait. See from the far distance, as if it is the art painting of experienced the vicissitudes. When entrances Xihekou, you will feel a sudden back to the Ming and Qing Dynasty, with ancient and serene.
Here, we encountered the first bridge; it is an old bridge completely has any maintenance. There are many quiet and beauty stone bridge in town. The building features white walls and black tiles. The old town has ancient and quiet promenade. People here still leisurely life, without any commercial atmosphere. On the stone bench in the promenade, we can occasionally see small groups of elderly people who are in the chat.
Around the corner of the antique promenade, we accidentally discovered the old barbers shop. There is no any commercial atmosphere; even the tourists are also few and far between. The people here are still living in the old house, and the majority is elderly. The live here is plenty of leisure and quiet, without fast-paced and no noisy.
I think this is my ideal of the ancient town. The ancient town is really quiet. Though it is not famous attractions, but enough to intoxicate people and make people stopped for it.
